Not Even Water: A Networking Iftar

Join us for our annual Not Even Water Iftar, a purposeful networking night in collaboration with Deloitte and Islamic Relief Canada, centered on the theme of leading with Ihsan (excellence). We will be joined by professionals from various consulting firms (EY, KPMG, PWC, Amazon, BDO and others) - bringing together students, mentors, and professionals for an evening of connection and community

As we gather to break our fast together, this event offers a unique opportunity to build authentic relationships, gain career insight, and engage in thoughtful conversation in a welcoming environment. Whether you’re a student seeking guidance or a professional looking to give back, this iftar is designed to foster purposeful connections beyond the plate.

Our Keynote Speakers

We are honoured to be joined by two distinguished keynote speakers whose leadership, scholarship, and lived experience bring depth and perspective to this special evening: Imam Ahmed Wardak and Nabeela Elsayed.

Imam Ahmed Wardak

Imam Ahmed Wardak is a respected faith leader, educator, and therapist-in-training with a strong foundation in traditional Islamic scholarship and community service. He memorized the Quran at the age of fourteen and later completed the six-year Alimiyyah program at Darul Uloom Azaadville in South Africa, graduating in 2020. He went on to pursue advanced specialization in Ḥadith, completing his studies in 2023.

Imam Wardak currently serves as the Resident Imam of Masjid Zakariya in Scarborough, Ontario, where he is deeply involved in youth mentorship, and community education. He is also the founder of Fitrah Academy.

Nabeela Elsayed

Nabeela Elsayed is a seasoned executive leader, speaker, and coach with over 20 years of experience in strategy, operations, and organizational transformation. She has held senior leadership roles at globally recognized organizations including Walmart Canada, IKEA, and Starbucks, most notably serving as Chief Operations Officer at Walmart Canada.

Widely recognized for her impact, Nabeela has been named among The Globe and Mail’s Top 50 Executives and Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women. She currently serves on several boards, including the Miracle Foundation and the National Council of Canadian Muslims, and is a passionate advocate for ethical leadership, inclusion, and social good.

Giving Back

As we break our fast with water, we pause to reflect on the reality that millions of people around the world still lack access to this basic necessity. This evening, we will come together to raise funds for Islamic Relief Canada’s Water Well projects, bringing safe, sustainable access to water to communities in need.

This initiative is an opportunity to turn gratitude into action, transforming a simple moment of iftar into lasting impact. Every contribution helps provide a vital resource that supports health, dignity, and livelihoods long after the night ends.

Join us for an evening of meaningful dialogue, intentional networking, and collective giving where excellence leads and service follows.
